As a quick update on the development of the Easy Building Editor, I can report things are going very well and I am starting to get more familiar with the way this new editor module works, and I am looking forward to starting the beta process very soon.  I will not bore you with the many minor steps through what's been coded, but I can show how the EBE entity is treated much like a regular entity, so you can use the TAB clip to chop the roof off for interior editing while using the shape painting tool.  As you can see I got carried away with my quick test to add better stairs that the ones I created in my last Twitch Broadcast, created interior and exterior walls and a little hatch in the wooden room in the back (for no reason but to cut a hole in the wall).

The system now detects the new PFB file and expands the shape painting menu so you can create your own custom shapes, and I am currently working on the ability to create and move between multiple construction sites (grids), saving that data using RLE compression and attaching it to the entities for saving and reloading whole levels of them. I will then proceed to create some code which optimizes the polygons to replace the many 'many' cubes currently being crammed into the meshes.  I also plan to expand the texture selector UI with some more buttons for things like 'texture pick', 'import custom texture set' and a special texture paint mode which does not add/remove cubes, but paints what is there.  I am sure I can add more to this UI area as the EBE toolkit needs it.

I am also interested to hear what your general views are about the way the EBE is shaping and whether you think it is a good first version for users new to creating their first 3D buildings and structures.  There is a lively forum thread called EBE in the GameGuru forum board and I invite you to check it out: https://forum.game-guru.com/thread/215812
