`Jump tutorial

`This tutorial will show you how to make an object jump.

sync on : sync rate 60 `Sets up our screen refresh rate

backdrop on `Set up the 3D display

make object cube 1,1 `Make our object

`I like to add a matrix to my tutorials to get a sense of place inside them.

make matrix 1,100,100,10,10

do `Initialize our main loop

`Sets up our variables for following the object

x1#=object position x(1)

y1#=object position y(1)

z1#=object position z(1)

`Gets the angle value

ay1#=object angle y(1)

`We place the variables of the object inside this statement.

`That way, the camera knows to follow the object, the variables

`represent.

set camera to follow x1#,y1#,z1#,ay1#,15,10,1,1

`Basic controls for this tutorial.

if upkey()=1 then move object 1,1

if downkey()=1 then move object 1,-1

if leftkey()=1 then yrotate object 1,ay1#-1

if rightkey()=1 then yrotate object 1,ay1#+1

if spacekey()=1 `Sets up what will happen when spacebar is pressed.

Move object up 1,.3 `Moves the object up, while spacebar is pressed

endif `Ends the statement

`Moves the object down, if it's above ground level

`You could also use something similiar for matrices like this,

`with the get matrix height command. This would provide

`accurate falling of objects.

move object down 1,0.5

`Notice how I added the 'if spacekey()=0' to the endif.

`I combined it using the 'and' command.

`I did this, because when you rise, you're holding the spacekey.

`Yet, when you rise your y position would be greater than 0.

`This in turn, would pull you down, before you can move back up.

`Try taking away the 'and spacekey()=0' from the statement above, and you'll

`see what I mean.

loop `Loop the program
