FAQ - The future of FPS Creator

1. Q: Will there be free updates for FPS Creator?
   A: In tradition with the way our company works we typically release all bug fix updates free of charge. We also reserve the right to release Enhancements to FPS Creator for a fee, details of which will be made available when ready. Additional Model Packs will be made available at cost.


2. Q: Will there be a way to edit my FPS Creator game in DarkBASIC Professional?
   A: Yes. While FPS Creator itself will not generate any DarkBASIC Professional source code, we have released the entire source to the game engine part of FPS Creator free of charge to the community. This means that with the full version of DarkBASIC Professional, Upgrade 5.9 (or later) and the Enhancements Pack, you can modify and recompile the game engine source code as you wish. You are free to sell on whatever changes you make.


3. Q: Is there a provision to extend the engines power through DLLs?
   A: You cannot do this via DLLs. But we have released the game engine source code for free, so you can modify that as much as you wish. You can also extend the power of FPS Creator by building more advanced FPI scripts. Over time we aim to release our own engine updates as well.


4. Q: Will FPS Creator have extra bits and pieces that we have to buy in addition to the engine?
   A: FPS Creator is a complete game making solution. We will not release any extras that you HAVE to buy in order to get it to work. Any extras we do release will be entirely optional, and while they may enhance your game making experience, they will not be compulsory.
