The following are the System Requirements for Dark GDK. Please note that Microsoft have their own System Requirements for Visual C++ 2008 Express.
| Minimum System Requirements | |
| Pentium III 1GHz or equivalent Dark GDK requires Microsoft's Visual C++ 2008 Express compiler. |
|
| Windows XP (Home/Pro) / Vista | |
| 1 GB of hard disk space | |
| 512 MB of Ram | |
| You must have the August 2007 DirectX 9.0c SDK installed | |
| Fully DirectX compatible Graphics Card with 128 MB Memory or more and Hardware 3D Acceleration | |
| DirectX compatible Sound Card | |
| We recommend your video card has at least 256 MB of memory to get the most from the Dark GDK. You will otherwise be limited in the size of game and type of effects you can use. Certain features of the Dark GDK (such as vertex / pixel shaders) require a suitably powerful graphics card. Please check with your video card manufacturer before purchasing. | |

We are sorry but the Dark GDK was developed exclusively for Microsoft Windows based PCs and will not run on any variety of native Apple hardware or on Linux. You may have some success using Dark GDK under Bootcamp on Intel based Macs, but this is entirely unsupported and done at your own risk.
Your Dark GDK programs will not work on any of the above consoles and they cannot be converted to do so.
