Tree Party is a Dark Basic Pro / Dark GDK library application that allows the developer to include highly detailed, realistically animated 3D mesh trees into their applications with little effort. This system was designed to closely match the native functions of Dark Basic Pro / Dark GDK - so adapting the library to your projects is a snap! This version is a complete re-write from the ground up to allow for the more advanced features of Dark Basic Pro / Dark GDK, including shaders and mesh deformation. A lot of additional time has been spent with this release to ensure the end-developer the most realistic yet practical tree system possible. We are confident you will appreciate the extra effort put into this product.

At the heart of the Tree Party you'll find a simple to use tree editor with built in creation wizards. This Editor was designed from the ground up to be the easiest and most powerful tree editor to date. With a few simple clicks and material selections you'll have a tree created and sitting in the editor ready for additional customizations. Tailor the tree to your particular needs then 'save' it and it's ready to be loaded in your game project via simple code.
As you can easily see the pain of modeling, UVmapping and poly-budgeting great looking trees is already done for you. Just fire up the editor, design some trees ( or use the already made tree set ) and load them into your game application. You can even reload trees into the editor later on if you need to make some adjustments. We've included tons of tree media, trunks, trunk skins and leaf skins to allow you to make nearly an endless amount of unique trees but if you still want more you have the option of importing your own skins or mesh into the editor and use them within the tree system!

Tree Party does a lot more than just display gorgeous trees, it handles the micro management of objects needed to make up a tree system. It handles automated billboarding and LOD changes. It handles real-time animations ( not a pre-animated model, these animations are generated in real time ). It handles cache buffering so you can define tree locations to 1000's of positions and not have to wait 10 minutes to load your map. It handles effects, shaders, sound and color palette. It handles z-sorting alpha planes, fade transitions, dynamic vertex scaling, tree instancing and portaling. It handles wind simulations that actually effect the trees differently each time allowing you to build some gorgeous stormy-weather maps with your trees twisting all about or just a breezy day effect. Tree Party is a complete system for the outdoor scene developer.
