The window below will appear, similar to the one we saw previously. This time you have a new button "Enter Order Key", click it.

Step 5

You need to enter 2 pieces of information. Your email address and the Order Key from the previous step. The email address must be EXACTLY the same as you entered before when verifying your DarkBASIC Professional CD-Rom. If it is different, the activation will fail. The Order Key must be 128 characters in length, and if copied from the email correctly it will be so.

Make sure there are no extra spaces at the start or end. Ensure your Internet connection is alive and click the "Next" button.

Step 6

The Activation Service will now communicate briefly with the Certificate Server and upon a succesful communication and exchange of data you will see this:

The important part is the text that says "Order Key Verified. Product is now activated". Click the "Finish" button and you can now carry on and use DarkBASIC Professional without any further hinderance.

Q: I don't get "Order Key Verified", I get an error message instead.
A: There are a number of possible error messages that can be returned. Please see the list below.
Possible Error Messages

You can only ever receive one of the following errors, so when contacting support you should tell us exactly which error number it was.

Code Error Message and Description
4 Order Key <> 128 chars
Double-check your order key, ensure you copied the whole key.
8 SQL Error Saving the Certificate, try again later
There was something wrong with the data submitted. When you see this error you should try again - but a report will have been sent to our development team.
9 SQL Error Retrieving Certificate Data, I've given up, sorry
Our server is failing to respond, try again in a few hours.
10 The Machine Key has been banned from activating this Product
Your PC has been banned from using this Product, probably for reasons best known to you. We will ban PCs from using our software for reasons such as Credit Card Chargebacks / Fraud.
11 The Machine Key has been deleted for this Product
You need to re-run the Activate From DBPro CD program again (step 6).
12 The Machine Key given is associated with a Fraudulent Order, banned.

15 Email Address missing.
Somehow you submited the data to our certificate server via a means other than the supplied program and the email address was missing or was stripped out in transmit.
16 Order Key (k) not supplied.

17 System Error - the SQL Database Failed to Respond, Network Down?
Our server is failing to respond, try again in a few hours.
18 Order Key already ACTIVATED + Machine Key is DIFFERENT + Email Address is DIFFERENT.
Essentially you're using an Order Key for someone elses PC and have the wrong email address.
19 Order Key already ACTIVATED + Machine Key is DIFFERENT + Email Address MATCHES.
Essentially you're using an Order Key for someone elses PC, but the email address matches.
20 Email Address given does NOT match that associated with the Order Key given.
Pretty obvious really - if you entered the wrong email address, try again. If you activated using the wrong email address the first time around - go back to that step and repeat it.
21 Order Key matches + Machine Key matches BUT Email Address given is DIFFERENT.
Your Order Key was entered correctly for your PC, but the email address is wrong - double-check it.
22 The Order Key has been banned.
Your PC has been banned from using this Product, probably for reasons best known to you. We will ban PCs from using our software for reasons such as Credit Card Chargebacks / Fraud.
23 The Order Key has been suspended.
Your order has been suspended from use, this will typically only happen if we have to investigate a fraudulent order.
24 The Order Key given is associated with a Fraudulent Order, therefore banned.
Exactly what it says.
25 Order Key was NOT found in the certificates database, typo perhaps?
The Order Key was a valid length and all of your other details were correct, but we just couldn't find it in the certificates database. The best solution is to contact support quoting your order key and email address.

If none of the above works and you still cannot activate your copy of DarkBASIC Professional then you need to contact our Support Department and provide as much information as possible, especially things like email address, order key (if you get one), the product you are activating, etc. Also: Do you have anything unique about your Internet connection? (i.e. a company LAN, a proxy server, Internet Connection Sharing). Tell us exactly which step of the process it fails on and the exact error message you receive. PC hardware information isn't usually required - if the process fails then 9 times out of 10 it is because of a communications error / block.
